We had a brilliant 4 days working on the road and other digger projects with Adam Mills at the helm. Adam’s experience and driving skills meant we got the car park, road and loads of other jobs done in what would have taken us 4 weeks rather than 4 days! No more bumpy drives to the building and the farmer can move his sheep without losing a few down our unfenced driveway! Thanks Adam for being so patient and good natured.

The first yurt is up, what a great weekend with Julia Calderwood and Jim Calderwood. It looks fantastic in the field with the valley backdrop, can’t wait to get the furniture in and light the woodburner. A brilliant dress rehearsal for next Easter when we open. Comfort in the countryside.

Decking Underway

Decking Underway

The first decking is finished, ready to receive the 21 foot beautiful yurt which has been patiently waiting in the wings. We can’t wait to get the first one up and see it finally sited where it belongs. The weather has been amazing, making it such a pleasure to work in these beautiful surroundings. We managed to find some stunning sturdy oak planks from a local sawmill to build the decking from, It seems a shame to cover it up!

A Welcome Break

A Welcome Break

Slow but steady progress and the inside walls are going in. Itchy insulation is my least favourite job so far but worth it for the cosy cubicles! We took a welcome break one evening to try out the new cooking pots with Jack and Pauline who cooked us a glorious chicken stew on the open fire. Thanks to Outdoor Kitchen the pots were amazing, our glampers will love them.
